About The Show
Your favorite travel podcasters: Jimmy, Dan and Matt from The Now Boarding Travel Show will choose a regional recipe from their travels and challenge Greg (Chopper) to make the dish. These challenge episodes will follow the research, preparation and tasting of foods from around the world. No re-dos, no second chances, this show will be the one and only shot at recreating these amazing meals.
With no professional cooking experience, Greg will be giving you a look at an amateur’s attempt at tackling these regional flavors. Each recipe will be one that he has never attempted to recreate before. This show is meant to inspire others to branch out and break their routine by discovering new and exciting meals.
Try something new. Go out of your comfort zone. Explore.
Welcome to Chopper Test Kitchen.
Meet The Cook
Chopper
Greg, or “Chopper”, as some of his friends call him, was born and raised in Columbia County, New York before relocating to the big city of Albany, about an hour away. He shares a passion for travel with the hosts of The Now Boarding Travel Show that began with his first international trip, accompanied by podcast co-host Dan; a 15-day backpacking trip through central Europe.
Considered by himself to be the Godfather of Now Boarding Radio, he was destined to be involved in a more hands on role at some point. Marrying a love for food, a passion for cooking and a desire to inspire others to branch out and try new things, the Chopper Test Kitchen was born.
Aside from spending a few summers as a dishwasher, busboy and waiter at his local country club, Greg has absolutely no professional cooking experience (he’s an Accountant by trade). Any skills that he actually possesses are learned from watching videos by the likes of Gordon Ramsay or some of his favorite cooking shows on Youtube, Binging With Babish or Sam The Cooking Guy. These Chopper Test Kitchen episodes are meant to show you what can be done without real-world, cooking experience in a normal, run-of-the-mill apartment kitchen. A look at what normal home cooks are capable of, so to speak. There are no special tools needed and the ingredients can be found almost anywhere. The only thing required is a passion to try new things and the willingness to give them a shot. He’ll also be sharing with you the mistakes that were made (there will be many) and how we can all learn from them to continually make each dish better than the one that came before it.
